Why do our cultural narratives about sharks center around the misguided notion that they’re villainous or mindless killing machines? Join us in viewing two short TedTalk videos followed by a discussion of this timely and urgent topic. Multicultural Room.

Water Qigong*
Saturday, July 16 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
“Qi” energy is like water. If it doesn’t flow, it stagnates. Water Qigong is the practice of moving the water in the body with deep breathing and slow, graceful movements. Learn the moves and breathing without water. Friendship Grove.

Trivia in the Tent*
Tuesdays: July 19 & August 16 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Are you a Jeopardy fan? Random fact enthusiast? Test your skills with four rounds of Trivia hosted by the Library in the tent. Bring a team or make new friends. This trivia will be general knowledge – so anyone can be an expert! For this event, you can register a team of up to four people, or just yourself. Players without a team will be assigned to one upon arrival. Friendship Grove.

Drop-In Craft Night for Adults: Marbled Coasters

Did you know that succulents are great house plants? Learn the secrets of how succulents survive and adapt. Add whimsy and creativity while designing your very own potted succulent garden and discover how easy it is to prepare homemade soil, as well as how to care for your potted garden.
Please bring your own gloves (any type). All other materials provided by instructor. No experience

Curly Hair Class & Product Swap*

Learn how to make the most of your curls – from waves to spiraled curls to coils. Join local curly hair Ouidad Certified Stylist Julissa Maldonado (Mora Hair Salon) as she explains how to manage your curls on a daily basis, do’s and don’ts of curly hair, and scalp health. Have lots of half used or unused shampoos, conditioners, and styling products? Bring products to swap with other curly haired attendees. $10 for 12 and older. $5 for 11 and younger. This is a CHPL fundraiser and is open to all.
