Kids: Early Literacy Ages 0-4
This program promotes early literacy skills that encourage life-long reading. Complete six or more activities from the CHPL Early Literacy Mission to earn your badge, win a free book, and be entered into a raffle for our Early Literacy Prize Basket.
Kids: Ages 5-11
Every minute of reading earns you 1 point! 300 minutes of reading logged unlocks new mini-games and story times. Spend your “Points” on raffle tickets for one of TEN Kids Prize Baskets awarded at the end. Every time you log reading minutes you are automatically entered into a Weekly Prize Drawing for a $5 gift card to Five Below. Weekly Drawing winners are selected every Monday. You must have logged at some point during the previous week to be eligible for the Gift Card drawing.
Teens: Grades 6-12
Log your reading each week to be automatically entered into a weekly raffle for a $20 Amazon Gift Card or Free Book. By logging books, writing reviews, attending programs, and completing missions, teens can earn points to purchase raffle tickets for one of our grand prizes!
Join us for a chance to win awesome prizes! Just for registering, adults will earn a spin on the Reference Department’s PRIZE WHEEL. Adults can earn points for entries into the grand prize raffles by logging books, writing book reviews, completing missions, and attending select Library events for adults.
- Who can participate?
Children, teens, adults, and even kids who are not yet reading—there’s a program for everyone!
- How do I create a family account?
If you are a parent or guardian and would like to create a family account to manage your children’s logging, simply follow the directions to create an account for yourself, then follow the prompts to register each child. If you have already created an account for yourself, log in and click on the “Account” button on the top menu of your screen, then select “Add Child Account.” If your child also already has an account, select “Link Existing Account.”
- Can I count books that I read on my computer or e-reader? Can I count audio books?
Of course! It’s all the same to us.
- Can I join the program after its official start date?
Of course! And if you can remember any reading that you’ve done since the program’s official start date of June 25, you’re welcome to go back and count that.
- I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?
Since you entered your email address when you registered, you can retrieve your password via email. From the Login page, click on “Did you forget your password? Get it by email.”
- I forgot my username. How can I retrieve it?
Your username should be the email address you signed up with.
- Does the Primary Account Holder have to participate in a Summer Reading Program?
Nope! The Primary account holder is responsible for being the login for a group of linked readers. But we always encourage them to participate anyway!
- Can people use the same library card to register?
Yes! Because families often share a library card, the library card number doesn’t need to be unique to every individual user.
- Is it required for students to list what school they go to and what grade they’re entering in September?
Nope, it is not required to include this information at registration.
